Mindy Kaling isn’t planning on sharing the identity of her daughter Katherine’s father with the world anytime soon.
In an interview with The New York Times Magazine, the Cambridge native revealed why she has stayed mum about the mystery man so far.
“My feeling is that until I speak to my daughter about that, I’m not going to talk to anyone else about it,” Kaling told the magazine.
Despite writing two memoirs and a self-titled sitcom, Kaling, whose new film “Late Night” hits theaters on Friday, also said she doesn’t necessarily have plans to use her life experiences as a new mom as comedic fodder.
“I could write stories about mothers, about my relationship with my daughter — but I don’t know. It gets so ‘Postcards From the Edge,’” Kaling said, referring to the late actress Carrie Fisher’s 1987 semi-autobiographical novel.
“I think people are often surprised that for someone who seems as open as I am on social media and who writes things that seem drawn from my life, I find that stuff really private.”
