After managing hotels in both San Francisco and New York, what do you think of Boston’s style?

I believe the city takes great care and attention to detail in preserving the character and history that makes Boston so unique.

It seems as if you’ve made a big push for The Revere to be seen as a fashionable Boston brand.

I have a big hand in programming different things and saying OK to various partnerships for the hotel. We want to appeal to Boston’s up-and-coming markets, such as IT, architecture and design, and even fashion . . . So we had MassArt design our uniforms, our bar stocks Bully Boy, and we just did a mural on the side of the hotel with Brazilian artists Os Gemeos in partnership with the ICA and the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy.

Your career requires you to dress for a workday that goes from morning to night. How do you make your outfit decisions?

One thing I always carry with me is my Montblanc fountain pen, and I like watches — I have 18. I think the combination of great shoes and a great belt can make an outfit gel really well together. And I have decaf coffee in the morning. — R.R.
