the one thing

A wireless speaker that looks as good as it sounds

Portable, wireless speakers can be mighty cute, but all in all, they resemble the gadgets they are. Copenhagen-based audio company Libratone has changed that notion with the Zipp. An elegant anecdote to a typical electronic device, with its ubiquitous glowing and blinking buttons, this cylindrical sound source, which measures just over 10 inches, is encased in eight vivid colors of Italian felt. As for its performance, Zipp delivers a high-quality wireless audio experience from iTunes, straight out of the box.

Libratone “Zipp,” $399 at Room 68, 68 South St., Jamaica Plain, 617-942-7425, www.room68online.com
