Just because

Meichi Peng is one of Boston’s most in-demand contemporary interior designers doesn’t mean she’s abandoned her roots. Drawing on the sewing skills she learned as a girl in Taiwan, Peng applies a traditional hand-stitched technique to her line of pebbled leather goods. This fall she introduces two new styles, including No. 15 (yes, there are 14 others), complete with her distinctive topstitching. Combining a soft, textured leather shell and a removable zippered Belgian linen insert, it’s the perfect autumn carryall, for city or country.

Peng No. 15 leather shell, $1,250 and linen insert, $150 at Peng, 460 Harrison Avenue, Boston, 617-521-8660, pengbags.com

Correction: An earlier version of this article had the incorrect phone number for Peng. The number is 617-521-8660.
