South Boston boutique Habit hosts a dress and handbag event Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30. Dresses will be 20 percent off, and New Hampshire-based designer Sew Sarah R will be selling her complete line of clutches and taking custom orders. (See to view her designs.) We were saddened to hear that Harvard Square jewelry shop Topaz will close at the end of the year. Right now, most items are 20 percent off (a small selection is half off), including pieces from Dori Csengeri, Ayala Bar, Sara Danielle Designs, Catherine Weitzman, Rebel Designs, and others. Accessories including handbags, wallets, scarves, and gloves are also marked down. Topaz is at 11 Dunster St., Cambridge, 617-492-3700.



Nahas Shoes on Beacon Hill is also closing at the end of the year. Footwear from brands including Naot, Sanita, Arcopedico, and Sebago is marked down 50-70 percent. Find boots, clogs, boat shoes, and sporty styles. Nahas is at 65 Charles St., Boston, 617-723-6176.


Looking for something to do with the family on Saturday? There will be kids’ activities, giveaways, live music, open studios, and a multi-business yard sale with steep discounts during Discover West Concord Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Debra’s Natural Gourmet (98 Commonwealth Ave., West Concord, 978-371-7573) will host a birthday party and non-GMO food fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with birthday cake, ice cream, and food samples.
