New hot spot Branch Line opens in Watertown
It’s the hottest restaurant opening of the week or maybe the season: a new endeavor from one of Boston’s best-known restaurateurs. Branch Line is now open for business at the Watertown Arsenal, the latest from Garrett Harker, who runs city mainstays Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar, and Row 34. Watertown native Andrew Holden, general manager at Eastern Standard, is Harker’s partner here. Look for slow-roasted meats (especially a signature roast chicken), spit-cooked veggies, and unusual beers from chef de cuisine Stephen Oxaal, who hails from Boston’s B&G Oysters. There’s al-fresco dining year round and, for intrepid diners who might have had a couple of those rare beers, a bocce court. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday for dinner, with lunch hours starting in November.
