Meet Minni, a new space for very small artists

(Maya Reardon)

Entrepreneurial product designer Kelly Harris Smith wants to redefine art education for some of Boston’s pint-size citizens. Minni, the community creative space she opened in May,offers programs that teach kids ages18 months to 10 years more thanscissor skills and finger paintingtechniques. For instance, at Dollhouse + Décor, pupils not only created plans for their dream home and crafted tiny furnishings, they visited a local artist studio and furniture showroom.Innovative upcoming classes include Service Shop, taught by a mechanical engineer, and Wearable Art, complete with fashion show finale.
