Uncork the stories behind unusual wines
Here’s a combination: Unusual wine and three of Boston’s best restaurants helmed by Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer — Coppa, Little Donkey, and Toro. What’s not to like? Jodie Battles, the group’s wine director, launches a monthly wine class starting on Thursday, Aug. 9, exploring the “truths” behind the pours. Vino Veritas touches on various themes in the drinking world, beginning with Pét-Nats, a potent, naturally sparkling wine that predates champagne. On tap for September: women winemakers.
The first class will be held at Coppa (253 Shawmut Ave.), and Battles will pair pours with Coppa snacks. (This is a restaurant that serves beef heart pastrami and sea urchin panino, after all, so she’s an expert matcher.)
The hourlong class starts at 5:30 p.m. Tickets cost $25;e-mail email@example.com to reserve your spot. Can’t make it? You’ll find the wines on their menus, too.
