Berklee raises big bucks for — and through — music
Berklee College of Music’s star-studded 24th Encore Gala took place on Saturday at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. Berklee President Roger Brown, his wife, Linda Mason, hip-hop artist and actor LL Cool J, and gala co-chairs David Sprows and Lori Sprows were all there. The evening included a performance by Nile Rodgers and Chic. According to Berklee representative Allen Bush, the Encore Gala annually raises $2 million for the Berklee City Music program, a nonprofit that helps underprivileged kids grow in a number of ways, mainly through music studies.
