Major ski resorts across the United States are creating ski and snowboard programs with experiences tailored exclusively for women. Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow gal pals as you learn new skills and maximize existing ones in relaxed and non-intimidating environments.


Stratton Mountain is offering a series of once-a-month, multi-day and -week Women's Ski and Snowboard programs that are designed by and for women. Enjoy personalized coaching and confidence building skills led by Stratton's top female instructors and guest coaches, including Women on Snow Camps (Jan. 24-26; Feb. 5-7; March 13-15); Girl's Time Out Snowboard Camp (Jan. 29-31; March 11-13); and Girl's Time Out Sunday Series (Jan. 24, 31; Feb. 7, 28; March 6). www.stratton.com.


2. VAIL, Colo.

You'll find a full roster of women's ski and snowboard events at Vail Resorts, including group clinic Her Turn (Feb. 5-7; 26-28; April 2); Ultimate 4 Ski Lessons, for moms who have children in ski school (Feb. 13-20; March 13-April 2); Ski Adventures clinic with Kim Reichhelm, former member of the US Ski Team and US Freeskiing Champion (Feb. 8-11); new all-day Women's Workshops (Feb. 20; March 5); and, weekly throughout the season, the Women and Wine FAC (Friday Afternoon Club). www.vail.com.

3. PARK CITY, Utah

Park City Mountain is offering a Women's Ski & Snowboard Camp (Feb. 26-28). This three-day challenging workshop is designed to improve ski and snowboarding skills, and build self-confidence in an all-female, supportive environment. At Loon Mountain, sign up for the two-day intensive Women's Performance Ski Camp (Jan. 23-24; Feb. 25-26). Led by female instructors and geared for intermediate level or above skiers, the camp of up to 30 women will enjoy more than 12 hours of coaching, core conditioning, and video analysis. www.loonmtn.com.


Her Mountain is a series of new ski school programs tailored to women at Breckenridge Mountain. Women's Camp serves all levels, ages 15 and up (Feb. 19-21); Women & Wine half-day lessons on Wednesdays (through March 2); Bombshells, a three-hour program designed specifically for moms who drop off kids for lessons (Jan. 23, 30; Feb. 6, 20, 27); and Ultimate 4, offering individualized attention with maximum of four women per class (though April 2). www.breckenridge.com.
