Sure, Florida and Hawaii dominate TripAdvisor’s 2016 Travelers’ Choice list of the 25 best beaches in the United States, but two of New England’s finest get some love, too.
Ogunquit Beach in Maine ranks 15th most popular among TripAdvisor reviewers, with one commenter remarking, “We love this beach so much we moved here!” and another noting that there is “lots of sand and water.” Many others point out that it’s a great place to bring kids, plus it’s wide, and therefore great for walking.
Not far behind is Race Point Beach in Provincetown, 19th on the list, with one commenter calling it “the most beautiful beach on the planet,” and another noting it is “hands down one of the best places to watch the sunset when visiting Provincetown.”

A reviewer from East Haddam, Conn., added that it’s the ideal place to “walk, watch the seals, and enjoy a little solitude.”
Among the few complaints? “Water was very cold.” The site notes the beach is best from June to August.
