If you’ve been going through Big Papi withdrawal and wondering what he’s been up to since hanging up his cleats at the end of the postseason, here’s one answer: vacationing.
Ortiz stayed at a five-bedroom mansion in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. It was a retirement and thank-you gift from local company TripAdvisorRentals, and based on his Dec. 5 tweet and a Facebook post, he had a blast.
“[This] was a perfect opportunity to kick back and relax with my boys,” Ortiz said. The villa he chose, Garden View Villa, had everything he was looking for, he said, with multiple bedrooms, a private pool, big kitchen, and location right near the beach.
But you don’t need to be a World Series MVP to vacation like one. Rates start at $550 per night at the villa, and the house sleeps 10, so you could bring your starting lineup and stay for just $55 each per night. Check it out email@example.com
