Explore Boston’s Harbor Islands in this fun new way: by swimming between and running over them. SwimRun, the Swedish adventure race first held in the United States — in Portland’s Casco Bay — in 2016, comes to Boston June 16. Participants run more than 13 miles and swim a total of 3 miles as they connect at least four islands during SwimRun Boston. Racers compete in teams of two and must stay within 30 feet of each other throughout the race for safety reasons. The event, created through a partnership between SwimRun USA and ethos (organizer of the Boston Triathlon), starts on Peddocks Island and ends on Spectacle Island, where there will be a post-race party and awards ceremony. Limited to 200 teams. $700 per team, includes race entry, ferry rides, post-race barbecue, and swag. SwimRun USA has also added a race in Washington’s San Juan Islands this year.

Race, ski, and chill with Bode Miller at Mount Sunapee March 23. Bode Bonanza includes a chance to race against Miller, attend an evening Q&A session with the Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion, and spend two hours skiing and hanging out with Miller and 12 of your friends. The ski race starts at 10 a.m., when Bode takes on Sunapee’s Paralympics gold medalist Jason Lalla on the Eggbeater run in a dual Nastar setup. See if you can beat Bode’s time, and then get your bib signed and a photo at the finish line. Listen to live music by the Dead Blues Society, take part in a silent auction, and ask Bode questions during the Q&A, 5-6:30 p.m. $50 per person to race, must preregister; $35 per person for Q&A; must win the auction to hang with Bode from 1 to 3 p.m. The event benefits the mountain’s adaptive ski community, through the Turtle Ridge Foundation and New England Healing Sports Association. 603-763-3576,

The new planes will also be fitted with Virgin Atlantic’s premium economy cabin toward the end of this year. In the meantime, the 287-seat Wi-Fi-enabled planes will offer a choice of 19 fully flat beds in upper class, 45 extra leg room economy seats, and 222 economy seats, all with inflight entertainment.
