On the morning of the special election for senator, my daughter went to the polling site in Newton to vote. She had her children, ages 2½ years and 9 months, in tow. En route, my granddaughter asked, “Mommy, what are we doing?” Mommy told her that they were “choosing someone to help our country.” After a moment of thought, my granddaughter replied, “I choose Grandma!”
