> DRESS REHEARSAL

DANIEL My roommates saw what I was wearing and told me to change immediately.

SARAH I got to Inman Square early and decided to walk around and explore to calm my nerves.

DANIEL I made sure to get there about 15 minutes early and she was about 5 minutes early, which was nice.

SARAH The host brought me over to meet him.

DANIEL I got up to give her a hug. She was dressed well and looked very nice.

SARAH I could tell right away that he was easygoing and down-to-earth.

> SECOND ACT

SARAH We quickly found that we had a lot in common.

DANIEL We shared our stories of how we signed up for [Dinner With Cupid]. They both involved our grandmothers and overbearing — but loving — friends.

SARAH We were very compatible. We both grew up on the North Shore, like the Red Sox, and watch football [and] How I Met Your Mother. We both like learning about craft beer and drinking it.

DANIEL We both have a passion for theater, and we talked about what we liked about the different parts of it.

SARAH When he told me that he did theater growing up and in college, I thought, This could definitely work.

DANIEL I was mostly just an actor, but she’s been involved in lots of ways, which is very impressive.

SARAH It is a big part of who I am.

DANIEL I forgot to tell her that I almost started a theater for children with special needs.

SARAH The more I learned about him and how passionate he is about what he does, the more attractive he became — not that he wasn’t to start!

DANIEL We had a nice conversational chemistry throughout the night. That doesn’t happen very often on first dates, let alone blind ones.

SARAH I think good conversation is a big turn on.

DANIEL We could joke around with each other. . . . It’s hard not to like someone when you’re able to do that right after meeting them.

> CURTAIN CALL

SARAH I really didn’t want to go home [after dinner], so we decided to look for a bar nearby to get another drink and continue talking.

DANIEL I was happy to get drinks. I was confident that we would keep thinking of things to talk about.

SARAH [After drinks], he said he wouldn’t leave until I got in my cab. What a gentleman.

DANIEL I gave her a kiss on the cheek, then held her hand and said goodbye.

> SECOND DATE?

DANIEL I think we’ll go out again. It was one of the easiest, most natural first dates I’ve ever had.

SARAH We exchanged numbers, and he said he wanted to see me again. I definitely hope so.
