Will the 2014 Red Sox experience a ‘World Series hangover’?

After the emotional journey from worst to first for last season’s Sox, the ring ceremony scheduled to precede the Friday, April 4, home opener will be especially sweet. (Even better, it marks a third World Series title in just 10 years.) Despite the risk of a “World Series hangover,” in the words of Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy, the Sox weathered the recent post-championship seasons of 2005 and 2008 with some composure.
