What kind of results do job-training programs yield?

One study of 12 Boston-area programs found a majority landed new jobs, improved their earnings, and more.

A study of 12 Boston-area job training programs found these results:

> 77% of the 642 participants were unemployed when they started the programs

> 76% of participants who completed the program found jobs

> 80% of these participants still had their jobs six months later

> 87% of those who were employed at the start went on to earn more or get more hours

> 65% — Average wage increase received by these workers over previous jobs

> $9.21 — Average hourly wage before completing the program for those who were employed

> $14.20 — Average hourly wage after completing the program for those who were employed

> $271,425 — Estimated state and federal taxes paid by participants before the training program

> $1,669,167 — Estimated state and federal taxes paid by participants after the training program
