State Police discover sunken scallop boat

Divers have located the scallop boat that sank off Provincetown on Sunday morning, State Police said. Using a sonar device, the State Police Underwater Recovery Unit discovered the vessel Twinlights about 198 feet below the water Monday afternoon, said State Police spokesman David Procopio. Divers were sent down to assess the conditions, but it was determined that they could not safely reach the boat. “We have no independent confirmation that the captain is on board,” Procopio said. “We know from a crew member that was rescued that the captain might be on board the ship.”
