Two Conn. teens suspected in theft of Jesus figurine

Police said two teenagers are suspected of stealing a baby Jesus figurine from a nativity scene in Torrington and smashing it in some woods nearby. Workers discovered that the figurine was missing last month when they went to retrieve the set from a shed for the Christmas Village display. Detective Todd Fador said the figure was found smashed against a rock. He told the Republican-American of Waterbury that it was a prank by two teenagers and that there was nothing symbolic involved in the theft. Authorities say the teenagers confessed, and arrest warrants are being written for the two juveniles, whose names were not released.
