Mob associate gets probation in strip club case


An associate of the New England mob has been sentenced to five years of probation for his role in shaking down Providence-area strip clubs for protection money. WPRI-TV reported that Theodore Cardillo was sentenced Thursday by US District Court Judge William Smith. Cardillo, 69, is the ninth associate of the New England mafia to plead guilty and be sentenced in the scheme. He was a manager at the Cadillac Lounge strip club and pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy.
