A Gloucester woman faces negligent driving charges for her role in a fatal accident Saturday, authorities said. Rebecca Jacques, 52, was driving a vehicle that struck another vehicle being driven by an off-duty State Police trooper on Essex Avenue in Gloucester at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a statement from the Essex district attorney’s office said. A passenger in the trooper’s vehicle, Mary Lipman, 52, of Ipswich, died after being taken to a nearby hospital. The trooper, whom officials did not identity, was cooperative and consented to have investigators take blood and urine samples, the statement said. Jacques is expected to be arraigned Monday in Gloucester District Court on charges of negligent driving, operating after suspension, and a marked lanes violation, the statement said.
