Police say they used tear gas to force a domestic violence suspect from a house in Standish and arrest him. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said Ralph Gaddy Jr., 44, of the Buxton area is charged with domestic violence assault, terrorizing, and causing a police standoff. Authorities were called early Monday by a 36-year-old woman who said her boyfriend had assaulted her. She was able to get out of the house. Police were told Gaddy had been drinking and there were several firearms in the residence. After several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with Gaddy, search and arrest warrants were issued. Tear gas was fired into the house and Gaddy came outside and was arrested without incident.
