Worcester man leads police on chase

Sutton police arrested a 26-year-old Worcester man Monday morning after a 25-minute car chase along Route 146 in what police said was a stolen sport utility vehicle. During the chase, a police cruiser from Millbury slid off the road and into the snow. No officers were injured, the Millbury Police Department said. Police said the SUV David Gray was driving matched the description and license plate of a vehicle reported stolen from a Mendon store’s parking lot. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, Gray sped off at approximately 50 miles per hour, police said. Gray was caught at 9:45 a.m. after he pulled into the parking lot of an apartment building off Route 146 and ran from the vehicle, authorities said. Gray was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and possession of heroin, among other violations.
