Boston to start collecting Christmas trees

Boston Public Works Department employees will begin curbside pickup of Christmas trees for composting on each street’s recycling day from Monday through Jan. 18. All ornaments, decorations, and stands should be removed from the trees, and the city asks that the trees not be wrapped in plastic bags. Residents should put their tree on the curb by 7 a.m. on their street’s recycling day, which can be found at . Boston residents can also recycle catalogs and wrapping paper.
