Framingham resident charged with animal abuse

A 27-year-old Framingham man was arrested and charged with animal abuse after killing his dog and disposing of it in a dumpster, the Middlesex district attorney’s office said Monday. On Jan. 4, Framingham police found a dead dog lying on top of a plastic pet carrying case in a dumpster behind an apartment complex on Beaver Street. After an investigation, Douglas Coelho was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, the office of District Attorney Gerard T. Leone Jr. said. Coelho is being held on $20,000 cash bail with the condition that he have no contact with domesticated animals.
