Storm aid sought for Westerly

US Representative James Langevin is vowing to help Misquamicut rebuild its beach after Superstorm Sandy swept away dunes that protect the coastal community from tidal floods. The Democrat told the Associated Press Monday that he wants the House to approve funds for the US Army Corps of Engineers that could go to dune restoration. The House is set to vote on the next round of storm assistance next week. Langevin said Westerly is seeking several million dollars in help following the October storm.
