Lone Central Falls councilor shows up for meeting

A lone Central Falls city councilor showed up for a meeting with the state-appointed receiver on the transition back to elected government in the city. The Providence Journal reported that Robert Ferri was the only one of four councilors to attend Monday night’s meeting. It was billed as a workshop on the five-year fiscal plan approved by a federal bankruptcy judge. The state says elected officials must agree to follow it before their powers are restored. The mayor and council were relegated to advisers when a receiver took over in 2010.
