Four-alarm fire in Fitchburg spreads to neighboring building


The Fire Department responded early Friday evening to a four-alarm fire in a vacant three-story building on Hale Street in Fitchburg. The fire later extended to a neighboring building, believed to be a home, said a fire official. The vacant building was a total loss. The extent of damage in the neighboring building was not known, a fire dispatch supervisor said.
