Woman at N.H. hotel died of stab wound to neck

New Hampshire’s attorney general said the 70-year-old woman stabbed to death at a Littleton hotel died of a stab wound to the neck. Catherine ‘‘Kitty’’ Houghton was a trustee of the White Mountain School in Bethlehem and had traveled from her Novato, Calif., home to New Hampshire for board meetings Sunday and Monday. Prosecutors said Rodney Hill, 37, of West Danville, Vt., stabbed her several times in the lobby of the Hampton Inn hotel Monday night, in what they called a random act of violence. Hill is charged with two counts of second-degree murder and is due in court Tuesday for an evidentiary hearing.
