N.H. sled dog race begins after two delays

After two delays, the conditions are finally right for the World Championship Sled Dog Derby in Laconia, N.H. The derby was originally scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 8, but was postponed because of a lack of snow and then an abundance of ice. But last weekend’s snowstorm left a strong base, and organizers said the trail was in great shape before racing began Friday. Races will be held through Sunday and include the popular Three-Dog Junior event for young mushers.
