A body found stuffed inside a 55-gallon drum in a New York apartment was that of a young woman who had recently moved there from Providence. WJAR-TV reported Friday that the body of Francis Alfonso Pellerano, 19, was found last weekend. Pellerano had studied at the Rhode Island School for the Deaf before moving to New York last fall to be closer to a boyfriend. Police arrived at the Harlem apartment last Saturday to investigate a report of a foul odor. The medical examiner reported that Pellerano sustained multiple stab wounds.
