Man, 20, charged with motor vehicle homicide in death of teacher

A 20-year old man was arrested Tuesday and charged in a motor vehicle crash that took the life of a beloved high school teacher Saturday in Middleborough, authorities said. Zachery Lemmo of Middleborough was charged with motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, said Bridget Norton Middleton, a spokeswoman for the Plymouth district attorney’s office. Middleborough police responded to a two-car crash on Route 44 at Everett Street at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday. The operator of one of the vehicles, James Braga, 61, also of Middleborough, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lemmo was treated for minor injuries at a Boston area hospital and released.
