University of New Hampshire police are investigating an on-campus sexual assault reported early Saturday morning, a university spokeswoman said. A woman, who is not a student, reported being sexually assaulted at Sawyer Hall, a 146-resident dorm, at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, said spokeswoman Erika Mantz.“There is no information to suggest the suspect was a stranger in the residence hall, and we do know that the victim met the suspect at an on-campus evening establishment,” Mantz said. Police did not know whether the woman knew her alleged attacker before Friday evening, Mantz said. The woman described the suspect as a white male taller than 5 feet, 7 inches, with short dark hair wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the assault can call university police at 603-862-1427.
