Marstons Mills man shoots neighbor’s car with shotgun

A Marstons Mills man was arrested after he was found walking around his neighborhood around 3:15 a.m. Sunday with a 12 gauge shotgun that he used to fire several gunshots into his neighbor’s vehicle, shattering the windshield, Barnstable Police said. Dwayne Peters, 31, was taken into custody and is facing multiple charges, including carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded shotgun on a public way, and disorderly conduct, according to Barnstable Police Sergeant Thomas Twomey. Police discovered that a dispute Peters had with his neighbor prompted the shooting. The firearm, as well as a number of spent shotgun shells were recovered from the scene. No injuries were reported, police said. The incident is still under investigation.
