Woman killed in single-vehicle Waltham crash

A woman was killed in an early morning rollover crash Sunday in Waltham, according to a statement from the Waltham Police Department.

The woman was driving East on Main Street when she lost control of her white sport utility vehicle and it rolled into the westbound lane, striking another car, but leaving no one else injured, said the statement.

She was thrown from the SUV and then trapped under it as it landed on its side. She was pronounced dead when police found her after 12:37 a.m., according to the statement.

Police said that the speed of the vehicle does not appear to be a factor, but the investigation is ongoing. The name of the victim has not been released.
