Two people shot at Woodrow Avenue and Lauriat Street in Dorchester, Boston police say

Two people were shot in Dorchester early Wednesday night, Boston police said. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Woodrow Avenue and Lauriat Street around 6:30 p.m., said Officer Neva Coakley, a police spokeswoman. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known, but homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene, a sign that police fear the injuries could be life-threatening for at least one of the wounded. The shooting is under investigation.
