US Representative Chellie Pingree said she will not be running for governor. The Democrat representing Maine’s First Congressional District told the Portland Press Herald on Friday that she has given it a lot of thought and she is very happy serving in the House. So far, Governor Paul LePage, a Republican, has filed paperwork to seek reelection and independent Eliot Cutler is on board to seek a rematch with LePage, whom he almost beat in 2010. And Steve Woods, who ran for Senate as an independent, is now running for governor as a Democrat.
