Fifteen people were displaced by a fire that destroyed a three-story home Saturday morning, a fire official said. The three-alarm fire, at 3 Hitchcock Road, was reported just before 5 a.m., said Geoffery Gardell, deputy fire chief. Firefighers used ladders to rescue five residents from the third floor. Seven residents were taken to the hospital for observation, Gardell said. The residents were exposed to smoke, but not seriously injured.
