The National Park Service has worked with local Maine merchants to come up with a plan to open the Cadillac Mountain road earlier than planned. Park officials said Monday that the portion of the Park Loop Road that provides access to the mountain will open for the season Saturday, while other parts of the loop road remain closed until May 17 because of the federal budget cuts.
