N.H. police chief’s name added to memorial

The name of Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was added Sunday to the National Law Enforcement Officers memorial in Washington, D.C. The granite memorial bears the names of all law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Officers from Greenland arrived carrying a cruiser door to leave at the memorial. The Portsmouth Herald reported that the door features messages and memories of Maloney written by his family and police officers. Maloney, 48, was killed by gunfire during a drug raid on April 12, 2012.
