Vermont police said a 12-year-old boy was airlifted to a Boston hospital after being injured at an electrical substation in Springfield on Tuesday. Springfield’s police chief said the boy climbed over the substation’s fence, got onto some equipment, and grabbed an electrical line. The Rutland Herald reported that the incident caused downtown Springfield to lose power. A spokesman for Green Mountain Power said early reports were that the boy was ‘‘conscious and moving’’ before he was taken to the hospital.
