Crash on Route 128 in Dedham snarls traffic

State Police seek to clear tractor-trailer after five-vehicle crash

State Police have opened all lanes and will resume cleaning up a crash that involved a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 near Exit 16A in Dedham.

The tractor-trailer was part of a five-vehicle crash that paralyzed the southbound highway.

The drivers of the tractor-trailer, dump truck, and three cars involved were not injured, State Police said in a statement. Authorities warned drivers to expect a “extensive traffic delay” and seek alternate routes.

Around 3:20 p.m., the 50-foot long tractor-trailor jackknifed, colliding with the dump truck, which was towing a trailer, and three cars, the statement said. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.

All of the lanes have since reopened, according to a tweet from MassDOT.
