Erika Brannock, who was discharged Monday from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, hoped to find the woman who saved her life when she was injured in the Marathon bombings.
“She had short brown hair and a yellow jacket,” Brannock told the Globe. “I honestly don’t believe I’d be here if it weren’t for her.”
On Wednesday, tears streamed down Brannock’s face when she reunited with her hero, Amanda North, in Baltimore. They embraced and exchanged sentimental gifts during the reunion, aired on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.” Brannock had long thought about the good Samaritan who gave her belt to the EMT to make a tourniquet after the attack.

“I’m Joan from California, and I’m not going to let you go,” she recalled her saying.
In the confusion, Brannock had misheard North’s name.
