15-year-old boy stabbed in Cranston

Cranston police said a 15-year-old boy is recovering after being stabbed while on a nighttime walk near an elementary school. Police said the boy was walking near Stone Hill Elementary School at around 10 p.m. Wednesday when he was attacked. The boy told police that someone wearing a sweatshirt with the hood closed over his face came up from behind, grabbed him by the shoulder to turn him around, and stabbed him in the left abdomen. The boy was brought to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
