Woman finds boa constrictor on her porch

A Cambridge woman found something unusual on her porch Sunday morning — a 4- to 5-foot-long red-tailed boa constrictor, according to Cambridge police. The snake was discovered around 9 a.m. between two doors leading to the woman’s porch, police spokesman Dan Riviello said in an e-mail. Officers were able to safely remove the snake from the King Place home without harming it, the resident, or any officers, he said. Since police were unsuccessful in finding the snake’s owner, it was taken to the Petco store on First Street in Cambridge, said Riviello.
