Heavy rains over the past week have brought Lake Champlain to a record-high level and close to flooding. The lake’s water level reached 99.38 feet on Thursday, breaking the previous record on that date, and continued to rise to record levels Friday and to 99.63 feet Saturday. The National Weather Service records date back to 1908. The Burlington Free Press reported the flood stage is 100 feet. (AP)
