A Westwood woman was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly attempting to kill one of her own children, police said. Maureen Mullin of Pond Street allegedly is accused of attacking the child with electric hedge clippers, Westwood police said. The child’s father was able to stop the attack, police said. The mother and child were both hospitalized with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, said David Traub, a spokesman for the Norfolk district attorney’s office. At her arraignment Monday in the hospital, prosecutors asked that Mullin be held for dangerousness, Traub said. No other details were immediately available.
