Plainfield police said they have arrested three people in connection with a prank kidnapping that startled witnesses and pulled some officers away from a standoff situation in another part of town. Police said two men were seen tying up a woman with tape near a convenience store off South Main Street Tuesday morning, putting her in the trunk of a car, and speeding away. Many officers were at the scene of a standoff with a man barricaded inside a home when some of them were called away to the reported kidnapping. The standoff ended peacefully. Police charged Danny Vinal, 21, of Plainfield; Mark Reasoner, 22, of Plainfield; and Harley-Jane Davidson, 19, with misdemeanor breach of peace.
