A 7-year-old boy was flown by helicopter to Tufts Medical Center after being struck by a car Wednesday evening in Stoughton, police said. Lieutenant Dan McGowan said the unidentified child suffered injuries to his leg, but was in good condition. McGowan said the boy was hit by a 2003 Toyota Highlander just before 6 p.m. at the corner of Canton Street and Drake Avenue. He was taken by ambulance to Stoughton High School, where he was airlifted by a medical helicopter to Tufts. Police said the driver, Marcio Calixto, 36, of Stoughton was not at fault, but he is being charged with unlicensed operation.
