A Vermont school district has received a grant of more than $204,000 from the US Department of Education to establish or expand counseling programs. The district in Milton is one of 35 districts in 17 states to receive a grant. The total amount awarded nationally was $12 million. Recipients will use funds to support counseling programs in targeted elementary schools. The grants will help schools hire qualified mental health professionals to expand counseling services.
